Dr. Daniels has served in the field of education for over 35 years. Originally from Birmingham, Deborah spent her early years serving the state of Texas as a STEM educator. She eventually relocated to Indianapolis, Indiana where she would spend over 17 years as a Biology instructor, Science and Engineering Academy Leader, Science Fair Coordinator, and  much more. As if a 30 year career isn't impressive in its own right, Deborah then returned to the classroom and earned her Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership.

Dr. Daniels Calhoun is an instructional coach; certified state mentor; and a sponsor of a local PRIDE Club  where students are trained to be "People Responding to Intelligence and Discovering Education." Deborah serves as a mentor with the National Association of Biology Teachers (NABT), the Society of Women Engineers (SWE),  and the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE). Dr. Daniels Calhoun has taken her talents to state and national levels where she shares models for best practices in the classroom and offers workshops at the Hoosier Association of Science Teachers Inc. (HASTI). She has facilitated workshops with ElevateED, as well as offered a township workshop on Teacher Leadership.

Deborah's passion for education does not stop in the classroom. She has served Girl Scouts, Inc for over 25 years as a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Trainer/Facilitator. She is a retired Pastor of Children and Youth and is presently serving  as Secretary of the Indiana Women’s Council for the Indiana Region. It is from this intersection of passion, purpose, skill, and faith, that Dr. Deborah Daniels Calhoun built A.B.I.D.E. Consulting Services.
